Spiritual resources made for children are rare — and Naomi, the founder of Casa Hechizos, felt that gap personally. Drawing from the teachings of her mami, abuelas, bisabuelas, and elder mujeres, we created a 42-page workbook that any parent, tia, tio, titi,  grandparent, or caregiver can pick up — no specific spiritual path required. The result is a grounded guide full of techniques, cleansings, and practices that normalize ancestral veneration and make it something both children and families can participate in. It’s a book that  gently reminds us that the land has already given us everything we need.

For the design, we extended the Casa Hechizos brand — and let it play. Hechizitos (or little spells) called for its own visual world, one that kept the DNA of Casa Hechizos alive through the signature illustrations, color palette and the brand's packaging frames, while giving it room to breathe differently. We worked in a collage aesthetic built from roughly cut halftone imagery, loose and expressive layouts, and a design that matched the energy and curiosity of its readers. Created for ages 4–10, it needed to feel welcoming and fun without being elementary — allowing it to grow with the child holding it.

The workbook's design reflects exactly what it teaches: that ancestral magic doesn't have to be precious or out of reach. It can be colorful, tactile, a little wild, and completely yours. Hechizitos gives families a creative, living framework for spiritual connection — one that kids can grow with, return to, and one day pass on themselves.
